Christine "Lady Bird" McPherson (Saoirse Ronan) is a senior at a Catholic high school in Sacramento, California in 2002. She longs to attend a prestigious college in "a city with culture". Her family is struggling financially, and her mother tells her that Lady Bird is ungrateful for what she has. Lady Bird and her best friend Julie Steffans (Beanie Feldstein) join their school theater program, where Lady Bird meets Danny O"Neill (Lucas Hedges). She and Danny develop a romantic relationship, and she has Thanksgiving dinner with Danny"s wealthy family instead of her own, disappointing her mother. Lady bird 3a a hora de voar movie times. I didn"t really care for the first half of this movie. I saw it just an angsty teenage girl arguing with her mom and dad, not fully appreciating what she has. But the second half grew on me, where she decides to do her own thing, and then realizes that she had a lot to love at home. The cast is alright, not really that engaging, but the movie held my interest enough to see it through to the end. It"s just a story about a girl that"s trying to find out who she is. She dates different guys, makes new friends, and even goes to a college out of state. The big problem I have with coming of age stories like this is that they appeal to certain people. I"m sure there are some people that"ll latch onto this thing and say that it represents their adolescence, and their relationships with people, but not me. I have my own movie that connects with my youth on a very personal level, but it"s not this. I can understand people that love this though, there are some funny moments I thought, and there"s a lot of passion behind it. But it"s not for me.
